Last Week~

Don't you just love this time of year? Last week was beautiful and todays coolness was great as well. 'Tis the season for fall pictures! I've posted a lot on my PHOTO BLOG  this week. FYI if you still want to schedule pics in 2012, I'm taking about 2 more sessions in November.

Here are a couple of shots from last week.

Mylie's First Day of Preschool!

Wow, it seems only yesterday that I was sending Bennett off to Preschool! (SEE HERE) Now a full 2 years later, it is finally Mylie's turn! I can't believe how much this girl has grown in those two years! She is more than I could ever have hoped for in a daughter. She is so lively and spirited, and just full of joy. (Not that she doesn't have her share of fits, but I'll only focus on the positive for now.) Her days are pretty much filled with non-stop singing, dancing, coloring, and playing. She loves to sing and make up songs and belt them at the top of her lungs, draw and color pictures for everyone, dance and kick her leg as high as she can, and can play make-believe for hours with all of her various princess toys, stuffed animals, and dolls. She is very ready and excited for preschool!

This girly is too photogenic. She loves her picture taken, and loves to pose. Thus, even in the short 4 minutes we were out to take a picture of her, we have way too many!

She was so excited to wear her fox name-tag that she got at back to school night.

P.S. It bothers me to no end that I cannot say what color her eyes are. Up until she was 2, they were clearly blue. But since then they have gradually changed to a bluish-greenish-grayish? And they change with her surroundings...

First Day~First Grade

I know I echo other mom's when I say, I just can't believe how fast my kids are growing up! And I can't believe Bennett is in First Grade!!!

Boy, was he excited that morning. I love the "honeymoon stage" when they get up early, get ready fast, and are ready and waiting well before the bus arrives. (The stage has already past, and we are shoveling down the cereal one minute before the bus is scheduled to arrive.)

Needless to say, he was up and ready fast, and even asking me to take his pictures when it was still dark outside. And he sure looked handsome! He chose his "first day of school shirt" and liked it because it was very colorful. He even chose all of his own poses in these pictures. He thought it was cool becaus it was his FIRST day of school and it was FIRST grade.

He has been enjoying first grade, loves taking Spanish, and is trying hard to always be good. He forgets to bring home his lunchbox at least half the time, and is working on eating fast enough to finish the food he takes to school. Usually his leftovers (if he brings them home) are his afterschool snack. He sure misses Mylie and Coy, and they miss him. But I think I miss him the most! The days seem long for me and it is hard to think that the majority of his days are spent outside of my care! He now has a huge part of his life that I am no longer really a part of, and it is hard for me to get used to! I am looking forward to the second quarter when they will open the classroom to parent volunteers!
